Where to Stay in Vietnam: 3 Stays Across the Country
Accommodation is not just a place to sleep, it can also subtly elevate the entire trip.
These are three stays we personally chose (and would choose again) across Vietnam. Each one earned its place for a different reason, but all share the same thing: they made the trip better in ways we still remember.

Emerald Waters Hotel Valley
📍 Hanoi
Best for: Exploring Old Quarter on foot
Tucked into the busy streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, Emerald Waters Hotel Valley is the kind of stay you only fully appreciate once you step back into the chaos outside.
Check in begins with a quiet cup of tea. It’s a small gesture that immediately slows things down. In this part of the city, the hotel exudes calm and sincere hospitality that doesn’t feel rehearsed.
The location is its real strength. You can step out directly into the Old Quarter energy – boisterous street vendors and buzzing scooters along narrow alleys – and just as easily retreat into a space that feels deliberately softened around the edges.
Risemount Premier Resort
📍 Da Nang
Best for: An Instagrammable stay
Risemount Premier Resort doesn’t slowly reveal itself – it makes an immediate impression.
From the moment you step into the lobby, the atmosphere shifts: whitewashed walls with blue accents, open light-filled spaces, and a central pool framed like it was designed for pause rather than activity. There’s a clear visual language here, loosely inspired by Santorini, but softened enough to feel adapted rather than copied.
What makes it work is the contrast. You’re still in Da Nang – close to the coast, the city, and everything in between. But inside, the place feels intentionally slowed.

Pistachio Hotel
📍 Sapa
Best for: A central base within Sapa
Pistachio Hotel is close enough to everything to be practical, but elevated enough to feel removed from it.
Inside, the design is warm and grounded: from the wood tones and soft lighting, to the spacious rooms that make the space feel less like a hotel and more like your room back home. But the real draw is what lies just outside – the layered valleys visible from your balcony.
It’s a comfortable, well-placed stay. It’s not trying to compete with the landscape, but instead gives you a great stay to enjoy it.
What stayed with us most in Vietnam weren’t just the places we visited, it was also the accommodation and how they elevated the trip during our stay.
Not every hotel we stayed at made it into this list – only the ones that genuinely stood out for their atmosphere, location, or the feeling they left behind after check-out. These were the stays that felt considered, memorable, and worth returning to.
