About to Leave for Vietnam? Here’s What You Need to Prepare
Scenario: You’re about to leave Vietnam in 24 hours and you need a checklist on what you need to prepare.

Things to Have on Hand
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months during your visit
- Have a physical and/or digital copy of:
- eVisa (if you applied for it)
- flight itinerary
- travel insurance
- Cash (optional)

Buy eSim/local sim
If you’re on a tight budget, buy a local sim. But if you can afford it, I recommend getting an eSim instead. If you need to contact your hotel or transport, most vendors use WhatsApp, which doesn’t need a Vietnam phone number. I recommend getting this prepared before you leave for Vietnam, internet may be spotty once you arrive at the airport.

Sort Out Airport Transfer
In order, this is what I think you should use as airport transfer:
- Grab – perfect if you’re travelling solo or with one other person.
- Private Airport Transfer – use if you’re going with family.
- Taxi – there’s a chance you’ll get scammed and pay more than you should. Avoid unless absolutely necessary!
