Planning a Vietnam Trip for the First Time? Start Here

Planning your first Vietnam trip can be overwhelming – there are so many amazing places to visit! Here’s a step-by-step guide of how to best plan your first Vietnam trip.

1. Decide When & Where

Vietnam is a long country, with 3 different regions that experience different climates.

Decide first when you want to visit, and then check what region has the best weather for the dates you’re considering. This way, you can avoid cancelled flights and plans.

Read my article to see a table of Vietnam’s regions and their weather by month.

2. Check Entry Requirements

If you’re from China, New Zealand or Australia, you will need to apply for a Vietnam eVisa to enter the country.

If you’re from Singapore, there’s no need to apply for an eVisa as long as the visit is under 30 days.

3. Set Budget

Even though Vietnam is an affordable travel destination, it’s still important to have a budget.
