Is Saigon Square Worth the Hype?
The Quick Verdict
Rating: 1.5/5 (How do Charlenie ratings work?)
If you’re not good at haggling like me, you’re not going to have a good time at Saigon Square 😭
TikTok and Instagram touted Saigon Square as a great alternative for Ben Thanh, but is it really?
We went to Saigon Square twice. The first time we went, we just went to scope the place. Outside, it looks small, but once you enter, you’ll quickly realise that it’s a big market. It’s stuffed with stalls selling you everything on both sides. It’s an organised chaos. You’ll find that all shoe sellers are almost all in one area, same with children’s clothes etc.
At first, it was fun looking at everything, but we quickly realised that it was difficult to haggle, or maybe I just suck at haggling in general (or both haha). This is definitely not for amateur hagglers. We left with only a handful of items (mostly children’s clothes as souvenirs for my nieces and nephews and a pair of shoes).
I found the sellers to be inflexible with their prices. If you’re not good at haggling, give this one a skip 😬
