Hanoi’s Weekend Night Market – Yay or Nay?

The Quick Verdict

We had such a great time at the Hanoi Weekend Night Market in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The energy, the chaos, and the bargains made it 100% worth the hype!

I love weekend markets. There’s a certain hum in the air, a chaos that feels exciting, and it’s infectious. We actually stumbled upon the market by accident! Since we arrived in Hanoi during their National Day, I wasn’t sure if the Weekend Night Market was even happening, but I was proven wrong!

We were just strolling down the streets in Old Quarter when we started seeing the stalls being set up in the middle of the street. I loved watching motorcycles weave through the crowds even as vendors were still setting up their stalls, it’s so uniquely Hanoi.

My mum and I had a blast shopping for clothes and haggling with the vendors! I’m not the most aggressive bargainer, but most sellers still met me halfway. My mum, though? She’s a pro. She scored some pieces for nearly half price!

I can’t say how much fun my dad and my husband had while they were waiting for us to finish haggling haha, but I think they were happy to see us happy 😂

Overall, I’d absolutely recommend the Hanoi Weekend Night Market if you’re after an authentic, bustling night market experience. There’s so much to see (and buy!), and even if you’re just browsing, you’ll get a real feel for local life in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
